"C'è 'na luna mezz'u mare Mamma mia m'a maritare. Figlia mia a cu te dare Mamma mia pensace tu." These were the words my dad would sing while in the kitchen with flour all over his apron. All the while he was signing and whistling through the kitchen you just knew he was putting the best ingredients and his heart into his baked goods. Everything was made with love which is why everyone wanted to come to Uncle Sammy's for good food and pastries.

We are a brand new baked goods provider specializing in Italian cookies. Born in 1930 of my Italian Immigrant grandparents, Simon Ghiraldi, (Uncle Sammy), grew up in Brooklyn NY where he learned how to bake some of the most wonderful Italian items from scratch along with other Italian bakers. Sammy brought that "old school" way of baking into the homes of many of his friends and loved ones who couldn't get enough of the sweet treats. There was always something good cooking in Sammy's kitchen.

Today Uncle Sammy goes by many names. We call him papa, daddy, grandpa G and great grandpa G. Sammy lives in the hearts of all his children and grandchildren and through these recipes we can continue to hear him sing, kiss us on the heads as he walked by, give out hugs and say " buon appetito"!

We truly hope you enjoy these cookies and that they bring you, your family and friends as much happiness and comfort as they have brought our family for years.

Enjoy!
